About the song...
The Shield of America was born out of a discussion with a veteran about those that
sacrifice to protect us. This song is in honor of those that serve to protect us in our own neighborhoods,
within our country and throughout the world.
While it may seem a simple thing to "just join" the military, police, fire or other service, the reality is that at some point, you may be asked or expected to lay down your life.
As I considered my family, I realized that they truly were "The Shield of America."
And in the personal sense, they were also my shield! Special thanks to my family; Bradley Holmes, U.S. Air Force; Matthew Holmes, U.S. Navy; Collin Holmes, U.S. Army Reserve (Ohio); Lee Holmes, U.S. Marines.
Don't take what we have for "granted"...
I hope that we as "civilians" don't take this for granted. The sacrifice that these extraordinary people make is real. Whether the inconvenience of a “weekend warrior”, serving their one weekend a month, a cop walking a beat in the tough part of town, firemen racing into a burning building that could collapse on you at any moment, or our service men & women being stationed far, far away from home with the potential for coming home the same way they left in question- we owe a huge debt to those that protect us- The Shield of America!
Note from the webmaster: We will be adding CD Cover art and other things in the next few days. You may find one or two things still being fixed, but overall... we're ready! Enjoy!
